Finally. After four years of publishing, the Exorcism count has reached double digits. It will not hit triple digits. Even if fate allows me to live and prosper for the additional 23 years that another 90 issues will likely require, I designed the magazine’s nameplate to support only two-digits — thus capping the maximum number at 99.
Granted, I could always employ a hexadecimal numbering system, thus ensuring a 254 issues count from a mere two digits. Which, admittedly, sounds exactly like the sort of ridiculous thing I would normally do. But if that were the case, you’d be holding “Exorcism A” in your hands and not “Exorcism 10”, which you can plainly see is not the case. Fortunately, the art world loves built-in scarcity, so placing a hard 99-issue limit on the number of Exorcisms should theoretically increase the value of each publication. Whether this is measurable on any known monetary scale is dubious.
So I hope you enjoy this first double-digit Exorcism. Savor it. There are only another 89 more of them to go.
