Music

I have been composing music since I was a child. Has it all been good? No. Has any of it been good? That’s subjective. But in an effort to catalog and categorize a small subset of it, I have broken my compositions/recordings into three eras — described briefly below and linked fully in the sidebar.

CENOZOIC music

The Cenozoic era begins in 2026 to commemorate ULTRAsomething’s version 2 rebirth. Together, we’ll find out if it also enters a new era, or if it’s more of the same.

MESOZOIC music

The Mesozoic era contains music created during ULTRAsomething’s first incarnation, meaning 2008-2025. This was a time when designing synthesizers took precedence over using them, and when photography took up whatever remaining hours were left. Still, a few compositions slipped out — either as stand-alone songs or as soundtracks to the numerous vBooks created for the v1 ULTRAsomething website.

PALEOZOIC music

The Paleozoic era is the oldest. The music contained on these pages are from my youth — a nebulous term, which for the sake of this site is defined as 1985-2007, prior to the birth of ULTRAsomething web site. In this era, I composed for various groups (including by band, “Grace Darling“), for corporations, for dance choreographers, and for myself. The unifying sonic factor is the palpable naivety.
